Oil on canvas – 9,45 x 11,81 inch – Unique work

Mister Biscuit is so excited. Tomorrow is the big day, at last!

His father officially announced the big news the night before. He will be among the happy few to decorate the Christmas tree! No more endless teenage days, no more long rehearsals on the task of an exceptional decoration, no more recipes to obtain proper cooking and color to garnish the wonderful spruce. A sweet dream finally coming true. His mother is so proud of him, he will be right next to the twinkling star, right at the top.

Mister Biscuit was up, on-and-off, all night. Today is D-Day … Will he live up to the expectations? One last look at the mirror to check that his cheeks are red, this morning, it may be a small detail but it’s a big deal. His little heart shaped navel is red as well. Second little detail, as important. And is there a third? Indeed, there is: looking lively! And it’s not really the case right now. However, his body is evenly cooked. The trick using egg yolk he has been using for several months has proved its efficiency.

He sneaks out of his box, it’s so early. But as he crosses the threshold, he hears little steps behind him. He turns around and sees his two parents trotting towards him. They almost missed their “good luck” kiss!

Impressed, he arrives among the early arrivals in the giant living room where everything has been going on for several weeks now. Gifts on one side and decorations on the other. The adults, meanwhile, are busy with the final touchs. Humans have the bad habit of doing things at last minute. It’s exhausting, for sure, but it gives a spicy taste in this temporary end-of-year life. Mister Biscuit sees his fellows away, he discreetly approaches them. Uncomfortable, he wouldn’t like to be in the middle, annoying everyone. And that’s when she appears. The star … He had already heard about her, obviously. First, he had imagined her, then he had seen pictures. But here, for real, a few inches from him, almost brushing him … A shiver runs through his body. So moving, what a day!
