Oil on cardboard – 9,5 x 7 inch – Unique work

Before telling a little story of my invention, or not… A little bit of a big story about this fabulous bridge.

This bridge is named after the Tsar of Russia Alexander III (1845-1894). Inaugurated for the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1902, the bridge was intended to symbolize Franco-Russian friendship, established by the signing of the alliance concluded in 1891 between Emperor Alexander III and the President of the French Republic Sadi Carnot .
It has been classified as a historical monument since April 29, 1975. Finally, in a few figures, it is a metal bridge 45 meters wide consisting of a single arch of 107 meters with three points of articulation, allowing to cross the Seine without any intermediate point of support. A technical feat!

And now let’s have fun…

The fame of the Arts all dressed in gold calls to the rescue the lovers who play hide and seek by the lamppost. Fame demands help to contain its steed. He’s been doing his own thing since this morning. He doesn’t listen at all. In a few minutes, the fame of the Arts would not be at all surprised that he escaped from the pylon and flew above the Seine with impunity. And after that, to get him back… Good luck! She would like a little help, moral support, regardless. After so many years of sharing the Alexandre III bridge, that would be the least they could do. Between neighbors, mutual support is not too much to ask.

While fame is at this stage of its reflection, the steed breaks free from its grip and flies away towards a new and real freedom. It is then that the loves, helpless but concerned witnesses of the incident, play their part. They decide, by mutual agreement, to seek, via the street lamp, help from the nymph best placed to recover the mischievous.

The nymph, always ready to be of service and above all to preserve, whatever it takes, her legendary splendor, reaches out her hand and, between her thumb and her index finger, delicately recovers the very clearly identified flying object. In a somehow top-down manner, she replaces it at the very top of the pylon and, while giving a deadly eye to the fame that let him escape, returns to her own business.

The fame of the Arts, grateful, applauds the feat and especially and warmly thanks the two loves!
