I am literally thrilled. I&#8217;ve been preparing for it for six months. I painted oil paintings, some watercolors too. This is an important step.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Here I am with my\nhuge suitcase that I can hardly carry, a large painting on my\nshoulder and a backpack. Straight to Gare du Nord to take the Thalys.\nI go through the details of a hassle-free journey, of arriving at the\ncentral station right on time and finally, of discovering a great\ncouple, with three adorable dogs, who hosted me all week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I get to the real\nsubject that brings me: a collective exhibition in this nice gallery\nlocated in Berenstraat in the chic center of the city. When I leave\nthe central station, the panic \u2026. How do I find my way without any\nsense of direction? Easy: I ask nice people every ten minutes to help\nme. And it works wonderfully! I hang my paintings, I&#8217;m so happy to be\nthere. It is a dream come true for me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second day, I\ndecide to arrive an hour earlier to stroll through the streets. More\nexactly, to get lost! And there, the magic happens. Typical and\nunique houses of their kind. Particular shapes and colors that keep\nattracting my attention. I&#8217;m like a child on Christmas morning\ndiscovering her gifts under the tree. Few people in the street, they\nare still sleeping. And those who work are already in the office! I\ntake this opportunity to take some souvenir photos. I don&#8217;t think\nabout potential future paintings, I&#8217;m just a tourist who enjoys what\nshe sees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>How lucky I am to be\nhere. I barely realize it. The canals lead me to new adventures. I\ncross once, twice, three times. In one direction, then in the other\nand then the clock is ticking, I have to find my street. I try on my\nown. I know I&#8217;m not very far. This is where I should go. Ah, no, in\nfact, I was wrong. I retrace my steps. And then \u2026. now I&#8217;m going to\nbe really late. I give up and decide to ask for help.
