The sky is a tremendous blue, no clouds. On the other hand, the wind is freezing!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>We\nmove forward dumbfounded by this landscape from another time:\nold-fashioned mills, small green houses with red roofs. It feels like\ngoing back to previous centuries. They look like dollhouses. Some are\ninhabited, truely, while others are transformed into shops. The\nproducts for sale are very tempting: souvenirs in the form of soaps,\npigments, clogs, cups, and much more. It&#8217;s so hard to resist&#8230; And\nyet we did.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\nwalk among the houses, the small bits of gardens, take the small\npaths, the bridges. We meet a resident who plays the guitar on the\nporch of her house. Obviously we are not the only ones. It&#8217;s too bad.\nIt&#8217;s Sunday after all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\ntake this opportunity to take some photos. The place is terribly\nmagical. It inspires me. Hence this painting which has become\nobvious. We regretfully leave the houses to reach the mills a little\nfurther away. There they are, majestic. The path is narrow, the wind\nis violent. I almost fell!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019m\ntaking this opportunity to rebuild the world with my daughter.\nImagine what life was like here. The raging sea, the wind carrying\nthe leaves from the trees, women and men busy working, surviving in\nsometimes complicated conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As\nwe leave, we come across a herd of sheep. They are so cute, I love\nhearing them bleat. They are too wild to pet but I like them anyway!\nWe leave this place of a thousand secrets with regret&#8230; But I know I\nwill find it again!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\nwas on a beautiful morning in July 2023 that I am back to the Zaanse\nSchans site, all alone this time, in my office, with a watercolor\npencil, initially, to make the drawing. Then, the brush dances on the\ncanvas, depositing pigments of all colors. A sweet mixture from my\nmemories and my imagination. The sky is represented with a mixture of\nthree different blues and white. Clouds appeared.
