The Place de la Concorde is undoubtedly the biggest square in Paris. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

It is located at the bottom of the Champs-Elys\u00e9es to connect them to the Tuileries gardens. In the other direction, you have the Madeleine Church at the end of Rue Royale and crossing the Seine is the Palais Bourbon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On this huge square,\nthere are, among other things, eight female statues representing\neight French cities. And just like that, I chose Rouen which has the\nparticularity of offering a view of the Eiffel Tower, behind the\ntrees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you\u2019re a\npedestrian, this square is very annoying because crossing it is quite\na journey. Impossible not to respect the traffic lights. It is well\nknown that French drivers absolutely never stop on a pedestrian\ncrossing unless they have to when the light is red. So be careful!\nYou have to go around, it\u2019s the safest thing to do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you’re a\ndriver, this place is unbearable, except in the middle of the night!\nTraffic jams are ongoing. It honks, it gets angry, it rushes, it\nhits… In short, a place banned for those with less than a year’s\nlicense. When I was young, a long time ago, I drove by this square\nevery day. So I know it so well. And it is experience speaking, well\nwriting, to be more accurate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yet I\u2019m never\ntired of this place. As soon as I go there, now it’s exclusively by\nmetro, I always discover a new place, a new point of view. Lately,\nthe construction works, for I don’t know what new layout for the 2024\nOlympic Games, is polluting the landscape a little but it’s for the\nbest I hope. I also like to pass in front of the H\u00f4tel de Crillon\nand take a quick look at the often very luxurious cars parked in\nfront. The American Embassy is right next door and under guard. The\nvehicles don’t fear much.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Come on, just for\nfun, a discreet look ahead towards the Madeleine church and its\nneoclassical architecture. And what else ? Oh yes, the mus\u00e9e de\nl\u2019Orangerie that I discovered very recently, in fact, as wierd as\nit may seem. It is very pleasant with few visitors overall and the\nexhibitions on offer are always excellent.
