It\u2019s September, the weather is nice. The sky is a blazing blue. I\u2019m with an artist friend and like every morning, we leave from the central station to go to the gallery. We ensure the opening, it\u2019s important!<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

We\ndecide, each time, which street we will take to reach Berenstraat.\nYou will tell me that there are not hundreds of them either. Of\ncourse, nevertheless, all roads lead to Rome and we always manage to\ndiscover new streets with new views.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Suddenly,\nI stop, I turn my head to the right and there, what\u2019s up ?\u2026.\nThis view! The same one I painted. I was glued to it. I took out my\nphone to take a photo. Thinking about it, it\u2019s not the first time\nI\u2019ve seen this place. Far from it, and yet it\u2019s as if I\u2019m\ndiscovering it right now. It\u2019s weird. Maybe the color of the sky is\nimportant. It\u2019s true that as soon as the weather is nice, the world\nlooks different. Grey inspires me less. It\u2019s always the color that\nguides me and brings me joy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once\nback in France, to prepare the next exhibition, I love bringing new\npaintings. I can’t help myself. The choice is always difficult and\ndelicate. I make a first selection. I even ask my Instagram followers\nfor their opinion. I let it simmer for a few days. Then, I reduce\nthis selection. Sometimes I change my mind. I even go so far as to\nmake the drawing and when it’s time to paint, I change my mind. The\nchoice of this one was obvious. It was the first of my trio to settle\non the easel. I was captivated by this large sidewalk leading to the\nbridge and other buildings. This street light on the side that lights\nup the night, that watches over passers-by. I have a thing with\nstreet lights. I love painting them. I deliberately chose soft,\npastel colors to guide the eye little by little on the canvas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All\nstories are possible in this painting. In the others too, but this\none in particular. Each passer-by appears like a ghost, timeless. A\nhundred years ago and in a hundred years too, the landscape will not\nbe very different. Let us slide and dream.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
