The weather is beautiful. The perfect weather for a boat trip on the canals. Amsterdam really lends itself to this activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s\ngo, I’ll take you with me. We are a few meters from Berenstraat. The\nboats cross and recross in joy and good mood. Sometimes, you sail\ntowards a small boat that offers an aperitif with or without alcohol.\nSome occupants, rather cheerful, shout to you in their respective\nlanguages a “Cheers”! A specific atmosphere for every\nseason.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s\nearly September, the heat is behind us. The trees are starting to\nturn yellow, to lose their leaves. The rain is gradually setting in.\nThe water temperature is falling slowly but surely. And yet, this\nwalk is very pleasant. There are fewer tourists, the locals are\nalmost less nervous on their bikes, it\u2019s an excellent thing. A\ncertain serenity is setting in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\ncity is even more beautiful from the water. It\u2019s almost magical.\nAnd here, we are in broad daylight. Imagine at night. A city is so\nbeautiful at night. All these houses with illuminated windows without\ncurtains. I love to take a look and tell myself a whole bunch of\nstories afterwards. Dutch interiors are magnificent. Like many\nnorthern countries, the comfort of a home and the decoration are very\nimportant. And you can see it right away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Okay,\nI digress. This boat trip on the canals, during the day, inspired\nthis painting. I like it a lot, in fact, it\u2019s one of my favorites.\nBecause yes, as an artist, I have favorites. And it\u2019s not rational\nat all. Take this one for example. The photo wasn\u2019t great, rather\nordinary. And it took me a while to paint it. I had trouble getting\nstarted, concentrating, finding ideas. I was tired. And yes, it\nhappens. And then, I let it happen, at my own pace. As long as I\nrespected the deadline to sign it, there was ultimately no rush.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\nfavored autumnal colors, soft, harmonious. I give importance to the\nboats for once. The buildings are set back. At the end of the day, I\nlived a beautiful story with this painting, I liked giving it life. I\nremember the exact moment when I took the photo, but shh this moment\nbelongs to me.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
