Oil on canvas \u2013 11,81 x 11,81 inch \u2013 Unique work<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n Sweetheart let see if the Rose \u2026<\/p>\n <\/p>\n This morning is my special day! Truely. So my friend rang at my door and what a surprise, offered me this beautiful bouquet of orange roses.<\/p>\n I couldn’t resist and I told myself. Why not paint this bouquet directly freely, as I want, well rather as I can, without going through the watercolor pencil drawing box. Seems like a good idea ? Although\u2026.<\/p>\n When I found myself facing the white canvas\u2026 I took a deep breath and off I go with my brush a little bit of ocher and a lot of white, I started sketching a few roses. Then I put on some color. Then I really speed up and without necessarily looking at the bouquet, I improvised.<\/p>\n At first, I would have screamed in horror because it looked like nothing. And then, little by little, with hindsight, the buttons appeared. I counted them in the bouquet and the idea was to paint as many. But eventually I gave up and got into a pigment race. What lightness, what happiness.<\/p>\n And then, the stalks. Well yes, roses have stalks, even if in real life, they are in a vase and this is not what I chose for this painting at all. So I work harder. At first I randomly put 1, then 2, then 3. Maybe 4, I don’t know. And I sign.<\/p>\n For me, I consider it as done. And then, during the night, a doubt literally invaded me. Why did I stop at 3, 4 stalks? It doesn’t make sense at all. I had more than 20 roses, so obviously that was completely unreal and ridiculous. So I adapt myself, I take a paper towel, white spirit and I erase all the bottom of the canvas, all the work of the day before. But it’s for a good reason. So off I go, I concentrate to give this bouquet all its magnificence! And here are some 20 stalks. Ah, that\u2019s a lot better.<\/p>\n There you go, it’s finally over. I am very happy with the result. Well, this is not a “master piece” as they say but it is for me a first free try without any constraints. This is a painting that will stay at home and that I look at regularly.
