Oil on wood – 13 x 16 inch – Unique work
Just 50 years ago, a man was already walking on the moon. And about me ? I yelled my first cry 10 days later!
I could have walked on the moon, too, but then in my dreams. And so sorry for not realizing them that I cried every 36 coming nights, or maybe was it 35? At the time, parents used to starve newborns to make them understand they won’t have any food at night. Babies should get used to it and drink enough during the daytime hours! Dreadful days then!
A lunar landscape, inspiring, relaxing, scary. Man feels so strong, so big, so … and yet so vulnerable. Holes and bumps, just like existence. Arid deserts, harsh environment like so many toxic encounters. An unbreathable atmosphere like so many everyday atmospheres. It is often said to have your head in the clouds, as a crucial shelter but you haven’t reached the moon yet !.
When I take stock of all this, technological advances and civic setbacks; scientific progress and psychological gaps, I tell myself in fact, mankind is not what it seems to be. Appearances, a whole painful experience forever stuck in you, and wether you go through or you escape from it, it depends on your time of life. It’s so much easier to get older, things get simple, but more painful too. But your choices become more definite and thoughtful. The awareness of important things finally comes and the details fade, fade or disappear on their own, or not!
A tremendous step forward due to a certain age and to uncertain encounters that sometimes pushes you to act against yourself. But I digress slowly but surely from my main subject: the moon. More precisely, the lunar landscape… You could almost believe it’s a beach on the Atlantic coast, at the end of the day, when the sun is going down to give way to its best friend the moon, crescent moon, quarter moon, full moon? But after all, wouldn’t it rather be an aquatic landscape? God only knows, well the painter himself contains magic under his brushes to offer a unique and magical show well-kept as jealous secret. And what about the writer? He just puts words on colors.
