Cheeky & Company

Oil on canvas – 15,15 x 18,15 inch – Unique work

I really had a terrible day at work. Traffic jams on my drive back home put an end to what was left of my patience and happy face. I’d kill for a glass of white wine, Chablis would be perfect, sitting in my confortable sofa and a cuddling Charly, my favorite ragdoll.

The little red hen

Oil on wood – 8,54 x 17,08 inch – Unique work

Sad news for Sainte Cécile on this Saturday morning in February. The fox has made a little visit. It only took one omission. The hatch has remained open just one night and boom! They all died. What a mighty but starving animal. The farm decides to sort things out. A trap is laid with a bait, the half-shredded remains of a feathered victim. One day, then two, then three, then a week, then two and still nothing. The beautiful red fur is cunning. It never returned back to its crime scene.

Her shoulder-length hair with reddish blonde reflections is delicately pulled back up into a blurry bun and cleverly hidden by a veil matched to her dress. As I reach the beach, it’s low tide. Here and there sailing boats try fishing. During this season, sea bream, pollock and pout try to escape the bait, a worm pulled from the mud. But greedy fish falls necessarily into the net. A peaceful sight plays before my astonished eyes.
