Once upon a time, Mimosa and I…
One day you came from Australia, from Tasmania to England and in 1800, Malmaison Castle welcomed your first tree. Thank you so much Joséphine!
And then you landed on the French Riviera during the 19th century. You felt so good in this sunny atmosphere with no frosts.
You know how to invade the soil, disrupt the flow of water. But above all you conquered my heart. As early as January your smell is unique, the biggest perfumers in Grasse need you. It is said that you have kept your flowering cycle from your country of birth, my favorite Golden Wattle. Your fragility touches me, your colors make me dream, your sweetness moves me.
You awaken so many memories in me. Small harmless, fleeting, mischievous, precious flower. Suddenly I close my eyes and there you are. Throughout the year, it’s stronger than me, I think about you. All this life spent by your side. I will miss my dreams, my thoughts shared with you, but somewhere deep inside, I know you will always be with me.
Oh my sweet sea… you too have watched over me. As intense blue as lemon yellow, the acidity rubs against the velvet. The incessant surf in my ears slaps. These sparkling rollers, like you my mimosa, lightly tackle the bank full of fine sand or discreet pebbles. The dampness of the wind suddenly chases this suffocating atmosphere.
Long walks warmly escorted by all of you mimosa, sea and sun. And you too, azure blue sky. You wrap the whole thing like a golden cage. Do I feel safe, guided by your invisible, dense, imaginary force? Who knows …
Mimosa, are you still there? I badly need your branches heavily filled with fluffy pearls. Yes, there you are, now I see you. And if we exchanged a few chitchat, a few frivolities, why not a few philosophical comments. I love your inside radiation, your eternal fusion, your superb brightness, your obvious transparency, your sudden complexion. Another casual talk, chuckle, faded tear. All these familiar rituals that affected my existence in this privileged place that shelters you forever. Keep in you as I will keep in me our invincible complicity, our hushed touches, our hidden secrets. Everything that makes us a unique gathering.
