Oil on canvas – 9,45 x 11,81 inch – Unique work

Yvette wanted to become a musician. It had been her dream since she was little. She dreamed of becoming a pianist.

Her parents paid her private lessons as soon as she could read. It was easier for music theory. As a teenager, her teacher moved away. And could not be replaced. She misses her entrance to the conservatory, in an inch. The motivation was gone. The sparkle was no longer in her eyes. That soul food that makes all the difference. Desperate, her parents decide to enroll her in a small local association that practices singing. After all why not.

The first time she pushes the door to the rehearsal room, Yvette is stunned. A crowd of individuals from all over the world greeted her with open arms. One behind the other, they individually greet the new recruit: elephant, zebra, bear, wolf, pig, mouse, lion, antelope, llama, kangaroo, hippo, rhino, lynx, giraffe, deer, crocodile, leopard, hare. She felt so small, so different, so fragile, so unique. Yvette was the only one with feathers… So what?

Everyone sets in and it’s not one but two singing teachers, a cow and a dog, who briefly introduce themselves before getting into the topic. The two hours pass like a blink of an eye…. When Yvette returns home, her parents are patiently awaiting their only daughter. The latter is delighted. She says she is lucky that her previous teacher has moved. What a blessing!

For Christmas Eve, the choir decided to surprise all the inhabitants of the town: a free concert in the community hall kindly lent by the town hall. Yvette and her new friends rehearse very seriously, with passion and fun too. It is far from an easy task to harmonize all these vocalizations. But the two teachers are hardened professionals. Famous around the world, each in their specialty. Husband and wife in real life, they met on a gala evening in Japan and never left each other.

They spend their retirement sharing their passion in small towns that ask for nothing more than a little joy in their hearts. Mission accomplished with the creation of this amazing, highly motivated and very talented choir. Nobody knows yet but Yvette has stolen the secret from her agile wings, a recital is planned in Paris beginning of next year.
