Acrylic on canvas – 7 x 8 inch – Unique work

Tonight is the big night! My first solo art exhibition!

I have spent the last six months preparing for this unique and special day. I decided to create a new, large-scale canvas depicting Singapore and its Merlion—a beautiful project that took me the entire summer to complete, and one of which I am very proud. Then, rather last minute, I thought it would be a lovely idea to add some smaller pieces featuring locations in Normandy. As I visited various towns—Pont-Audemer, Honfleur, Veules-les-Roses, Beuvron-en-Auge, Houlgate, and, of course, the keep at Conches-en-Ouche—they all came to life under my brush.

The exhibition is titled “1, 2, 3… Colors!”—and there is certainly no shortage of color! I have chosen to present my paintings of Paris in two versions: the first is figurative, while the second features vibrant colors and geometric shapes. They face one another within the space allotted to me. The large-scale works depict the various exhibition locations: Paris, Amsterdam, and Singapore.

I am deeply moved to see my work from several years gathered together in one place. All those hours spent sitting before my easel—all the hesitations and doubts as I strove to achieve the best possible result. Questions constantly crowd my mind, while answers are far fewer. Most of the time, I rely on my instinct. Occasionally, I seek advice here and there—from those close to me, or from people I’ve crossed paths with along the way. I always listen; sometimes it leads me in an entirely new direction, and at other times, it reaffirms the path I had already chosen.

The hours are passing very, very quickly this Thursday, October 15, 2026. I arrive at the exhibition venue well ahead of time, to cherish the moment. I know from experience that everything will unfold at an incredible speed.

My first guests arrive. They offer me a magnificent bouquet in shades of green, yellow, and orange. It smells wonderful, brings me joy, and fits perfectly with the paintings. How lucky I am.
People arrive in small groups, one after another, for nearly three hours. I am over the moon—completely where I belong. Then, the concert begins; I head into the hall and enjoy the gentle songs. The singer has a fantastic voice. It’s 11:30 p.m.—the celebration has come to an end…

Now, I get to enjoy this beautiful bouquet at home.
